I have never heard of beet chips? Are these a snack food? How did they turn out? Or is it a preservative method for beets? Thx!

They're pretty chewy, but they are edible. They look cool though, like beets always do. We had the same experience with the sweet potato recipe here: http://www.dehydratorreview.net/recipes/sweet-potato-chips They are edible, but too leathery for easy snacking. If you find a way to improve, or find a better recipe, let us know and we'll try it out!

I tried making both cooked and raw for making chips last night and found the raw much better. Better crunch and flavor :)

When you process the beets raw do you peel them first?

I'd wash them really well, or peel.

Why not slice and put in the dehydrator? Cooking/baking takes out the nutrients.

"Cooking/baking takes out the nutrients." No it doesn't. It doesn't take out anything. Are you saying it alters something?
