An interesting kale chips recipe that is sweet instead of salty. The mild taste of cinnamon and sugar remind us of something that might be served around the holidays. This recipe contains no oil, so the kale chips can become quite crisp and have a paler color.
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch kale
- 1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/8 cup sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
Directions:
- Measure sugar, sunflower seeds, cinnamon, and water
- Place dry ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth, adding water slowly
- Wash kale and spin dry
- Cut leaves into pieces (removing stem), and place in a large bowl
- Pour cinnamon mixture over kale
- Mix with rubber spatula until evenly coated
- Place on dehydrating trays
Dehydrate at 135° for 2-4 hours, or at 115° F (for raw foods) for 3-6 hours (or until crispy)
