Kale Chips with Tahini

Kale Chips

Making kale chips is easy and gives you a superfood in the form of a salty, crunchy snack. This is a good basic kale chips recipe that tastes great.

Ingredients:

1 bunch organic kale, washed, spun or pat dry, and cut leaves into pieces (removing stem)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon tahini (sesame paste)
3/4 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon grated garlic
Dash crushed red peppers
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Combine everything except the kale in a small bowl. In a large bowl pour mixture over kale. Gently toss kale with rubber spatula.

Once all the leaves are coated, place on dehydrator trays. Dehydrate at 135 degrees for a few 2 hours, or until the chips are dry and crispy.

Step 1 - washed and spun dry
Step 2 - cut leaves into pieces – removing stem
Step 3 - Combine everything except the kale in a small bowl
Step 4 - In a large bowl pour mixture over kale
Step 5 - Once all the leaves are coated, place on dehydrator trays
Kale Chips - after 2 hours in dehydrator... Finished!

Very simple and easy. I also used it on petite frozen green beans which I dehydrated at the same time (but longer). Both turned out great!

Great - glad you liked it. The frozen green beans sound interesting, we'll have to try those!

I would never have thought about using tahini! Yum. I tripled the wet ingredients for one bunch of ruffled organic kale (it was a huge amount for 99-cents). Substituted garlic powder and New Mexico ground Chimayo chile powder to taste. I massaged the leaves with my hands. Going to do again with onions!
