Let’s take a quick look at the Sedona SD-9000 food dehydrator.

The Sedona SD-9000 is a large capacity food dehydrator. It’s a shelf-type unit that comes with 9 trays that slide into a main box from the front. The SD-9000 has dual rear-mounted fans that blow heated air horizontally across the trays from the back to the front. The front door is glass and hinged at the bottom. Operation is paused whenever the front door is opened.

The usable area of each tray measures 14” x 11.5”, providing 1.1 sq ft of drying area per tray. With 9 trays total, the SD-9000 provides a maximum drying area of just over 10 sq ft. The Sedona SD-9000 has two fans and heating elements, each providing 300 watts of drying power, for a total of 600 watts.

The SD-9000 has an LED display across the front, and a digital thermostat with a range between 85 degrees and 155° F. It also has a main power switch. The SD-9000 has a built-in digital timer that can run the unit for up to 99 hours before automatic shut-off. Temperature is monitored and displayed continuously while the dehydrator is in operation. The SD-9000 can be divided vertically and run as a smaller unit with either the top or bottom fan. All plastic components – trays, sheets, and the box - are BPA-free.
