NESCO 1018P Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator - 2 minute review

A quick video review of the key features in the NESCO 1018P Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator.

Transcript / Notes:

Let’s take a quick look at the Nesco 1018 series food dehydrator.

The NESCO FD-1018P Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator is a stacking tray type unit that ships with 8 trays which are stacked on top of a base. The base contains the heater and fan. Heated air is forced up the exterior pressurized chamber, then flows across the trays into a channel at their center. This design promotes even airflow to all trays, so that they don’t need to be rotated during drying, and prevents flavors from mixing. It also allows the capacity to be readily expanded by adding more trays.

Each tray is 15.5” in diameter and provides 1 sq ft of drying area. The 1018P ships with 8 trays and provides 8 sq ft of drying area. It can accept up to 30 trays total, providing a maximum drying area of 30 sq ft. Pressure is adjusted automatically as more trays are added.

The NESCO 1018P Gardenmaster has a 4” inch fan that runs at 2,400 RPM. It has an adjustable thermostat with a range of 95 to 155 degrees F. And it has a dedicated power switch. The exterior is a light-blocking white plastic, to help retain more of the food's nutrients and vitamins during drying. The Gardenmaster 1018p comes with 8 trays, 8 mesh inserts, and 8 fruit roll sheets. It does not have a built-in timer.

With 8 trays, the Gardenmaster 1018p is 17.5 inches in diameter, and 16 inches tall. It weights 19.6 lbs.
