Morels on Toast

Minnesota Morels

"Morels on Toast" from dried morels


dried morels
2 tablespoons of butter
1/2 cup half and half
Whole wheat bread

  • Soak dried morels for about 15 to 20 min in water with a bit of salt
  • Gently drain morels then cut them into quarters
  • Heat two tablespoons of butter in pan and add the morels
  • Saute for a few minutes then add half and half - about a half cup
  • Let simmer at low boil for about 20 minutes
  • Toast slices of bread
  • Butter toast and add morels
