L'Equip 528 Food Dehydrator
Let’s take a quick look at the L'Equip 528 Food Dehydrator.
The L'Equip 528 food dehydrator is a medium capacity food dehydrator with good expandability. It’s a stacking-type unit that comes with 6 trays that are stacked on each other. The fan and heating element are located in the base of the unit. Heated air is circulated through the trays using a special a channel at their center. This design promotes even airflow to all trays so they don’t need to be rotated during dying. It also allows the capacity to be easily expanded by adding more trays.
Each tray is 17” x 11” and provides 1.2 sq ft of usable drying area. The L’Equip 528 ships with 6 trays and provides 7.2 sq ft of base drying area. It can accept up to 12 trays total, giving it a maximum drying area of 14.4 sq. ft. Extra trays are available in sets of two.
The L’Equip 528 dehydrator has a fan and a solid heating element that provide 500 watts of drying power. The 528 has an adjustable thermostat, with solid state temperature control, and a range of 93 to 153 degrees F. The L’Equip 528 includes a dedicated on/off switch.
The exterior of the 528 is a light-blocking white or gray plastic, which helps protect nutrients and vitamins during drying. All plastic used in the L’Equip 528 dehydrator is BPA-free. The L’Equip 528 food dehydrator comes with 6 mesh inserts, for easy cleanup of sticky fruits, and 2 fruit leather sheets. It does not have a built-in timer.
With 6 trays, the L’Equip 528 dehydrator is 17” wide, 11.8” deep, and 10.5” tall. It weights 11 lbs.
